The Sintra City Council has ongoing applications for the VII edition of the Sintra Photography Prize, until September 30th.
Entries can be made by national and foreign photographers, residing in Portugal, aged 18 or over, who carry out their activity in amateur or professional terms.
Participants have complete thematic freedom, admitting analog and digital techniques. Each photographer can only compete with a maximum of two works, unpublished and original, of their exclusive authorship and property, whose copyright belongs to them.
The jury is composed of 3 elements, a representative of Sintra City Council and the photographers, João Miguel Barros and Nuno Antunes, who will appreciate the photographic works based on creativity, originality and photographic quality.
The delivery of the prizes and respective exhibition will take place in a public ceremony, at a date and place to be indicated.
The Sintra Photography Prize, promoted by the Sintra City Council, aims to promote photographic art and recognize the importance of photography in contemporary culture as a form of plastic creation, intervention in reality and testimony, which gives it a unique status as cultural and social document.
