Portugal’s Hideaways: Alte

Come and visit Alte, a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Loulé

The village of Alte is a place of tourist choice to appreciate the magnificent 16th-century church, the riverside route (with its natural pool, the weirs, and the beautiful waterfall), the typical streets decorated with flowerpots, and bougainvillea, and much more!

Each corner of the village is an excuse for beautiful photos full of interesting reasons: the original street art, architecture, nature, historical heritage, among others. The parish of Alte is a territory of artisans and artists, of excellent quality restaurants, pastry shops (where you can taste regional sweets and the famous pastel de nata) and a museum/art gallery.

Alte is located 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Algarve and 20 minutes from ultramodern shopping centers. The view, spreading through fields of carob and almonds, natural valleys and the sea (at 30km), is beautiful and serene, in the image of the inhabitants always smiling and welcoming.
