Come and visit Querença, a Portuguese village in the municipality of Loulé
Querença is located inland, located on the top of a hill north of Loulé, in the transition zone between a fertile landscape of the Barrocal and like hills of the Serra do Caldeirão. The area near Querença and neighboring Tôr is rich in water with numerous springs and very important for the supply of Loulé and Quarteira.
A natural reserve of Fonte de Benémola is located between Tôr and Querença. On the banks of the Ribeira da Menalva, which crosses this important ecological system, you can see a rich diversity of flora and fauna. We found a path beside the stream that protects this area and allows visitors to enjoy the diversity of the reserve.
Querença is very famous for its traditional regional cuisine that includes boar and rabbit stew. In the central square of the church there is a tourist information office and a museum, Pólo Museológico da Água, which explains the importance of water in the area.
