Eduardo Bentub won the prize for best international artist during the 28th edition of the International Symposium on Contemporary Art that ended this Friday in Slovenia.
“Diva delfine sodade” is the title of the painting, 80 X 120 centimeters in mixed technique on canvas, with which Eduardo Bentub was distinguished during this edition of the International Symposium on Contemporary Art, in Slovenia.
Eduardo Bentub told Inforpress that, although not officially, he was representing Cape Verde among a group of other international artists invited to this event that took place from the 21st to the 26th of June, current, organized since 1993 by the painter Klavdij Tutta and a critic from art Anamarija Stibilj Šajn.
Born in 1979, in Santo Antão, Eduardo Bentub attended the Mathematics course in Aveiro and Architecture in Lisbon. Between 2003 and 2006 he worked with Cape Verdean painter David Levy Lima. Lives in Slovenia since 2010 and has participated in several exhibitions in that country.
In 2013 he received an Honorable Mention Primavera in the young artist category, awarded by the Maribor Painters Association.
In August 2019, Eduardo Bentub was in Cape Verde, more precisely in Praia, giving an artistic residency, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, through the Directorate-General for Arts and Creative Industries.
