Almost 10 years after the edition of “Gazela“, the debut album by the Lisbon band, which included themes like “Verdade“, “Música Fria” or “Teresa“, entered the stage of Campo Pequeno, after an excellent journey, with songs that everyone knows and sings.

With a symphonic beginning, in charge of the 48 orchestra musicians conducted by the conductor Martim Sousa Tavares, in a show that in terms of sound was not always the best, sometimes the sound was predominant of the band and others of the orchestra, something that the acoustics of the room it doesn’t help, but the reality is that with the help of the audience, who accompanied the band the night was magical.
Captain Fausto, who performed in a somewhat reduced space and one level below the orchestra, started the night with “Lentamente” a choice that was perfect for opening a show of good music, which was followed by “Faço as Vontades“.
There were many themes that went through Campo Pequeno, “Corazón“, “Sempre Bem”, “Semana a Semana” or “Os Dias Countados”
with an audience that sang the band’s songs in chorus until the end of the show, it certainly gave the time very well spent.
With the concert ending, there was still time for “Amanhã Tou Melhor“, “Morro na Praia“, “Santa Ana” from the first album “Gazela” and the night ended with “Boa Memória” from the last album “A Invenção do Dia Claro” “and a sea of well-deserved applause.
Capitão Fausto
Tomás, Salvador, Francisco, Manuel and Domingos record their first album in 2011, “Gazela”. There we find the urgency of youth songs, of the pop hymns that are sung and know little by little.
In 2014, “Pesar o Sol” arrives and this second album stands out as one of the most original and creative proposals in our country. They defend it live, with memorable shows in big and small festivals, in clubs, in theatres, all over Portugal that receives them and forces them to grow. As your fan base grows exponentially, now transformed into a legion.
It is the songs of “Capitão Fausto Tém os Dias Contados” that, in 2016, lead them to surpass all expectations. A little more than 30 minutes of music and words, in pop mode filled with exquisite and refined, tell the life stories of each of the members of the collective, but they are much more than that because growing up is for everyone.
2016 confirms that Captain Fausto is, finally, a safe bet. A bet on good musical taste and refined sensitivity. A bet on creativity and the brilliance of a band that seems unstoppable. 2019 arrived and brought “A Invenção do Dia Claro”, the fourth original album by Capitão Fausto.
Recorded at Red Bull Studios São Paulo, by Rodrigo “Funai” Costa, assisted by Alejandra Luciani and Fernando Ianni, the new record was produced and mixed in Alvalade by the band itself. The mastering was in charge of Brian Lucey at the Magic Garden Mastering, in Los Angeles. The cover is the responsibility of Vitor da Silva, illustrator and graphic designer responsible for creating the graphics of notable newspapers such as “Expresso“, “Tempo” and “Correio da Manhã“.
“Sempre Bem”, “Faço As Vontades”, “Amor, ou vida” and the most recent “Boa Memória”, show a band that is reborn with each album, renewed with the care of those who want to build a solid career, in a seemingly galloping way but without the daze of dazzle. Passionate about Cartola, samba and choro, they went to Brazil to reinvent themselves.
