It is next Wednesday, February 19, starting at 10 pm, that Carmo Moniz Pereira and Peu Madureira return to Lounge D at Casino Estoril. On stage will also be Diogo Lucena Quadros on guitar, Luís Roquette on viola and Francisco Gaspar on bass guitar. Entrance is free.
Carmo Moniz Pereira
At the age of 15, she was invited to sing at a charity party, and since then she received invitations to other events. Integrates the cast of Clube Fado. In 2007, he stepped on a foreign stage for the first time, at the invitation of the Portuguese Embassy in Romania. In 2008, she was invited to sing fados at Casa da Morna on a fixed basis. Given the success of mixing mornas with fados, the Entre Mornas e Fados project arose, under which he performed several shows in large rooms in Lisbon. In 2010 she won the first prize Maria Severa of the “Há Fado na Mouraria” Contest and founded with Fadistas Francisco Salvação Barreto and Matilde Cid the Fado Rezado project, which aims to bring traditional fado to Christian celebrations as a form of prayer.
Peu Madureira
Pedro Madureira (Peu) remembers singing fado from a very young age. In family evenings, fado has always been a companion. He debuted at a charity party in Sintra, in 2002, and since then he has sung in different fado houses, parties, places and countries. In 2007 he travelled to Cape Verde, at the invitation of the First Lady, Adélcia Pires. That same year he was in Sibiu, Romania, where he participated in the celebrations of the European Capital of Culture.
The fado cycle at Lounge D continues with the trio “Fado Marialva” on the 26th of February.
Access to Casino Estoril is free, and from 10 pm, it is for people over 14 years old, and over 10 years old accompanied by their parents. In the game areas, it is for over 18 years.
