To celebrate the hot days and close Summer 2023 in a big way, on September 3rd, the Village Underground hosts two street Carnival blocks: the famous Colombina Clandestina, residing in Lisbon, and Cabaret Gandaia, residing in Paris.
Forerunner of the Lisbon Street Carnival movement, Colombina, at Carnival 2023, “O Amor é um Ato Revolucionário”, took +20,000 people to the streets, behind its Bateria Clandestina, Corpo de Dança, Sopros & Metais, and Pernaltas. For the first time in Lisbon, Cabaret Gandaia is a street carnival block from Brazil based in Paris. With only a year and a half of history, the block has already dragged crowds through the streets of the French capital. In their repertoire, we find from the most classic marches to the most current hits.
In addition to the two collectives, there will also be some guests. The party starts at 5 pm and ends at 10 pm. Pre-order €5, door €8.

Colombina invites Camila Rondon (Brazilian singer, songwriter, and writer) and Diogo Presuntinho (Musician and Timbaleiro, with more than 20 years of experience in Carnival blocks).
The Village Underground is an international platform for culture that has existed in London since 2007 and arrived in Lisbon in 2014. Composed of a set of reused buses and shipping containers, it includes a restaurant and bar space, a meeting room, and work spaces that currently host a dozen professionals from the creative industries. It also serves as a place for cultural events, with an active weekly program that includes concerts, parties, performances, and cinema.
