Carolina de Deus releases today “Amor Borderline (Doutor),” the fourth single from her upcoming album, the follow-up to “Modo Auto-Piloto”, “Três e Meia”, and “Depois do Pecado.” The song is now available on all major digital platforms, accompanied by an official music video on the artist’s YouTube channel.
With a pop sound and raw writing, the new track delves into the paradox of loving something that only brings pain. The song exposes emotional dependence as an addiction, using a metaphor that transforms a doctor’s appointment into a stage for irony and vulnerability. Between the comic and the tragic, the narrative reveals a broken heart that demands a prescription for forgetting, shaping an exaggerated but deeply real portrait of relationships that imprison more than they liberate.

About the new single, Carolina shares: “I wanted to write in a raw and almost theatrical way, playing with the idea of diagnoses and pills, but ultimately speaking of loneliness, fear, and codependency. The song oscillates between the comical and the tragic because I think that’s where we recognise ourselves: we laugh at our own contradictions, but inside it hurts.”
After winning over audiences with her debut album Dores de Crescimento (2023), Carolina de Deus continues to establish herself as one of the most genuine voices in new Portuguese music. “Amor Borderline (Doutor)” reinforces this identity: confessional pop, emotionally intense, and always capable of transforming vulnerability into strength.
