Caroline Polachek and Benny Sings at the 7th Super Bock Super Rock

Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta, Meco – Sesimbra July 13th, 14th and 15th

New confirmations complete the schedule for Palco Pull&Bear:
Caroline Polachek and Benny join on this stage the already announced 070 Shake, Biig Piig, Black Country, New Road, Father John Misty, L’Impératrice, PinkPantheress, and Sampa The Great.

On the 13th, 14th, and 15th of July of this year, Meco will once again receive some of the most original proposals today.

The Pull&Bear Stage is a showcase for a series of names that take risks, show new paths, and have the ability to surprise us, on the one hand, it is the stage for concerts by artists who provide moments of great proximity to the public, on the other. The poster for this stage is thus complete with two more unmissable names: Caroline Polachek and Benny Sings.

By naming stage 2 of Super Bock Super Rock, Pull&Bear, the youth fashion brand of the Inditex group, reaffirms its commitment to music and once again participates in one of the biggest Portuguese music festivals. In this edition, Pull&Bear reinforces its partnership with an experiential activation that will encourage participants to experience the Festival in a new way, with an installation that will be located inside the venue, close to the stage that will bear the brand’s name.

CAROLINE POLACHEK

Caroline Polachek is one of the most creative names in music made today and a true example of authenticity. With several projects and several signatures, Polachek has not stopped taking risks and surprises. Caroline was born in Manhattan but spent some of her early life in Tokyo absorbing traditional Japanese music and culture. She returned to the United States when she was still a child and music started to gain space in her life. As a teenager she discovered genres such as punk, emo, and indie rock, playing in various bands during this period. In 2006 she formed the band Chairlift and it didn’t take long for the project to catch on thanks to its irresistible kaleidoscopic pop. Her solo album would arrive naturally in 2014. “Arcadia” was released with the signature Ramona Lisa. Alongside the success with Chairlift, Caroline continued to invest in her solo career and edited “Drawing the Target Around the Arrow” with the signature CEP. This instrumental record revealed an artist thirsty to reinvent herself and wanting to do things differently. In 2019, the first album signed with the name Caroline Polachek arrived. “Pang” features collaborations from the likes of Danny L. Harle, A.G. Cook, and Andrew Wyatt, and conquers the public and the critic’s thanks to songs as strong as “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” or “Door”. After the release of a series of singles, such as “Sunset”, “Billions” or “Welcome To My Island”, it’s time for another album. Caroline Polachek brings us the songs from her brand new “Desire, I Want to Turn into You” to Portugal – performs on July 14th at the Pull&Bear Stage, at Super Bock Super Rock.

The records that followed, such as “Benny… At Home” (2007), “ART” (2011) or “Studio” (2015), consolidated Benny’s fame, even abroad. This international fame was also consolidated thanks to collaborations with names like Data (“Don’t Sing”) or Rex Orange County (“Loving Is Easy”). In 2021 Benny returned to records with “Music”.
