Casino Estoril has scheduled a remarkable poster for the month of March that promises to win over viewers in the Black and Silver Room. ABBA Gold, Lloyd Cole, Bebel Gilberto and Tony Carreira are just some of the main characters.
ABBA Gold concert
With a revivalist atmosphere, ABBA Gold will perform on the 11th of March, at 10 pm, in the Salão Preto e Prata. The concert will feature one of the most prestigious tribute bands to the famous Swedish quartet that won, between 1972 and 1983, millions of fans around the world.
“Mamma Mia”, “Chiquitita”, “Waterloo”, “Fernando”, “One of Us”, “Voulez-vous”, “I Have a Dream”, “Thank You For The Music” or “Dancing Queen” are, just some of the hits performed by ABBA Gold, always enthusiastically received wherever they go, forming a gigantic wave that takes the audience back to other times.
ABBA Gold is a British musical group that, for over 20 years, has performed the great classics of the iconic Swedish band, a worldwide reference that has sold more than 500 million records.
Lloyd Cole concert
Lloyd Cole debuts on the 18th of March at 9:30 pm at Casino Estoril. The renowned English singer and songwriter takes the stage to recover several classics from his career, as well as other hits from his new album “Guesswork”.
The classics he signed at the beginning of his career with the Commotions were ubiquitous in our radio playlists in the 80’s and since he went solo with an album of the same name in 1990, Lloyd Cole has never been away from our country for too long. here established a solid reputation on stage. Now, in addition to the classics collected over the last 35 years of a prolific career that has given us one of the best pop songbooks – from “Lost Weekend” to “Brand New Friend” or “No Blue Skies” – Lloyd Cole brings us a new set of songs that come together on his 12th solo album, “Guesswork”.
It will be a special concert, with the usual songs of a true master of words and those of now, those in which he reflects on the point of life to which time has brought him. “Solidarity Gala”
On the 19th of March, at 19:30, the Salão Preto e Prata will host the “Gala Solidária”, whose proceeds go to UA – União Audiovisual. Curated by Miguel Esteves, this dance show will be presented by Catarina Furtado and will have Marcelino Sambé as a special guest.
The Solidarity Gala was created with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of promoting equal access to the arts, encouraging artistic creation, production and dissemination; and the international projection of Portuguese creators, producers and other cultural agents. Several noble names of dance in Portugal will be present, in a night of love and talent.
Bebel Gilberto concert
Considered one of the most talented performers of her generation, Bebel Gilberto performs, on March 20, at 9.30 pm, at Salão Preto e Prata. Composer and singer, Bebel Gilberto takes the stage to present “Agora“, the album released in 2020. Accompanied by two more musicians, Bebel Gilberto will share all the pearls of this new record without forgetting, of course, the highest moments of her brilliant career.
If there is a name that rhymes perfectly with bossa nova today, it is, without a doubt, that of Bebel Gilberto. With more than 30 years of career, the singer signed her first eponymous record in 1986. But, at the end of the 90s, the electronic explosion associated with the modernist concept of “lounge” opened up a new space for her that she came to fill with today. classic “Tanto Tempo“, released in 2000.
Bebel Gilberto has garnered applause all over the world, from Japan to Europe and the United States, was distinguished with several nominations for the prestigious Grammys, participated in the famous series Red Hot + Rio and collaborated with important artists in addition to having recorded for historic jazz labels. like Verve.
Tony Carreira’s Concert Series
Tony Carreira opens the Restart Tour in the Black and Silver Room at Casino Estoril. After the first five concerts, scheduled for the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th of March, at 10 pm, sold out, an extra date has just been launched, for the following day, Sunday, 27, at 5 pm. Price: 30€ to 45€.
Awaited with natural expectation, Tony Carreira is thus reunited with his fans at Salão Preto e Prata. “I am very happy to start the Tour in a room that has always cherished me. I hope to see you again… until then”, revealed the artist when he announced the new season of concerts at Casino Estoril.
After memorable performances in 2017, 2018 and 2021 at Salão Preto e Prata, Tony Carreira is back at Casino Estoril for an unprecedented series of concerts, in which he will perform some unpublished songs, as well as other great hits of his career.
