Casino Lisboa opened a humor cycle with “Cheque-Mate”
The Ocean Auditorium of Casino Lisboa sold out for the premiere of the comedy “Cheque-Mate.” Marcos Caruso, José Raposo, Carla Andrino, Rui Unas, Sara Barradas, and Ivo Lucas starred in a succession of hilarious moments that captivated the audience.
On a night of pure fun, many prominent personalities, particularly from the entertainment and media sectors, attended the Ocean Auditorium.
“Cheque-Mate,” which infects the audience with humour for an hour and a half, takes place on a typical Thursday, which transforms when the lives of a powerful banker and a bank manager from Feijó intersect due to a cheque for 10 million euros.
The news of Rogério’s potential dismissal hits like a bomb and becomes the starting point for yet another comedy centred around a typical Portuguese family. Rogério has worked for 25 years at a bank but has still not managed to buy the car of his dreams, a modest VW Golf. Hélia, his wife, a public servant, honest and hardworking, gets caught up in value-added contests. Their son, André, studies engineering and gives tutoring sessions that are never paid for.

Two extra sessions titled Solidarity Box Office are scheduled. The first will take place next Wednesday, September 25, and the second the following Wednesday, October 2, at 9 PM. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated “to two institutions that are on the front line in combating wildfires and protecting animal life”: the Animal Intervention and Rescue Group (IRA) and the Portuguese Firefighters League.
