The Auditorium of the Oceans of Casino Lisboa will host, from the 8th of July, at 9 pm, a short cycle of representations of “O Amor É Um Som” (“Love Is A Sound”). On stage will be musicians, actors, and a well-known name from radio and television: Júlio Isidro, who makes his theater debut here.
“Love is a sound that claims an echo”, said Júlio Dinis. With this phrase, the show by Carla Vasconcelos presents itself, as a tribute to the heyday of radio and to the men and women who were part of it. Hidden faces that have a voice present in all of us, names that pass from generation to generation. Rubrics that do not forget. Complaints that hum.
“Talking about the radio, remembering the radio, listening to the radio, is always a smile drawn on the face. The radio is part of us; no matter how much the world skips and advances, it is always our new old company. The radio is an eternal love”, writes the director.
Similar to what was done at Rádio Clube Português and at Emissora Nacional in the 1940s, when the public could watch the broadcasts live, “O Amor É Um Som” brings back that magic and that glamour, in a show where everything happens flying and where spectators and listeners feel happy and feel like singing, dancing and laughing.

Next Friday, July 7th, at 9 pm, a solidarity rehearsal is scheduled with tickets costing €5. Proceeds go to Casa do Artista.
The Oceans Auditorium at Casino Lisboa premieres, on the 8th of July, at 9 pm, “Love Is A Sound”. The cycle of performances takes place on Saturdays: the 8th, 15th, and 22nd of July, at 9 pm; and on Sundays 9th, 16th, and 23rd of July, at 5 pm. M/12. Price: €20 to €22.
