Casino Lisboa celebrates Carnival with two festive nights

With a genuine festive atmosphere, Casino Lisboa has reserved two nights for its visitors to celebrate Carnival. Cais Sodré Funk Conection, next Saturday, the 18th, at 22.30h, and later, the group “Roda de Samba”, next Monday, the 20th, at 22h00, will provide entertainment and revelry at the Arena Lounge.

Entry is free. But, for those who wish, there is also the option of a show with dinner, by reservation.

Entertainment at the Arena Louge, February 18th, from 22:30
Cais Sodré Funk Connection open, at 10.30 pm, the entertainment program at Casino Lisboa. Born in the heart of the bohemian neighborhood that gives them their name, Cais Sodré Funk Connection is a band of veterans of Portuguese music and ambassadors of Funk & Soul. The “Soul Power” is ensured by Francisco Rebelo on the bass, João Gomes on the keys, David Pessoa on the guitar, Rui Alves on the drums, and by the woodwind section of João Cabrita, José Raminhos, and Miguel Marques, accompanied by the master of ceremonies NBC and the seductive voice of TAMIN (Telma Santos).

With more than 200 concerts “in the legs”, Cais Sodré Funk Connection continue on the road with new songs in their luggage and always celebrating adult life, without losing the contagious energy of their soul-funk. Soon, Cais Sodré Funk Connection will release a new album of originals that will feature new songs sung in Portuguese, starting a new cycle without ever losing the essence of funk.

With the Juke Box reserved exclusively, DJ Luis Leite continues, from midnight, with the party at the Arena Lounge. He is one of the DJs that most contributed to the evolution of the dance scene in Portugal. Starting his career in the 80s with a residency at Plateau (Official) and progression to the mythical “Alcântara-Mar” he ended up giving life to the first album to be recorded by a club in Portugal: “The House of Rhythm”. It was with this record that he achieved, what had never been achieved before, the first gold record in national electronic music. Added to this are numerous milestones, some associated with different projects, such as Delicado, Crystal Symphony, LL Project, and DarkMountainGroup, a co-project with Alex Santos whose first single, “Lose Control”, reached number 1 in the British magazine DJ Magazine.

Animation Arena Louge, February 20th, from 22h00
The group “Roda de Samba” will perform next Monday, the 20th, at 10 pm, on the central stage of the Arena Lounge. The group focuses its musical expression on one of the richest genres of Brazilian popular music: samba. In its musical journey through the genre, the group goes through its derivations such as Samba de Partido-alto, Samba Canção, Samba de Enredo, and also Choro and through the vast repertoire of its great composers.

Its form of the presentation focuses mainly on the samba circle format, which is nothing more than a gathering of musicians around a table or space, and in direct or close interaction with the public. With the musicians’ notorious family character and union around this passionate genre, the group usually presents itself in this format, where it receives guest musicians. Examples of this were the participation of renowned musicians such as: Gabriel Cavalcante, Branka, Carlinhos 7 Cordas, and Marina Íris.

The Carnival program at the Arena Lounge at Casino Lisboa ensures a lot of entertainment until four in the morning, with free admission.
