Castro, Couto and Guerreiro gave life to the Portuguese guitar

Pedro Castro presented at the CCB an instrumental album in which he brings together themes from the great names of composition for Portuguese Guitar to whom the virtuoso guitarist pays homage.

He invited two more important names to this concert, Bernardo Couto and Luís Guerreiro, who were also joined by friends and musicians that Castro admires, on the fado viola, André Ramos and Jaime Santos, the bass guitar, Francisco Gaspar and also on the classical guitar by Artur Caldeira who came from Braga to make this concert in Lisbon even more unforgettable.

Pedro de Castro makes his inspiration from the experiences and experiences shared with friends over the years, and he shared with the audience that was present at the CCB, not only the music, but also memories, stories, and moments with these musicians, but also with many others who influenced him.

About the album, Pedro says “as an album is not made alone, this album was made surrounded by longtime friends, talents that I have admired for many years, they will all be on this stage, except for João Veiga, Diogo Clemente, and Carlos Manuel Proenca

He thanked the public who, on a day of “soccer and the world cup“, was present to hear them, and remembered his Master, José Luís Nobre Costa, with whom he took his first steps in the art of bringing the Portuguese guitar to life.

Pedro, who was present on so many national and international stages, invited these longtime friends, on stage they played some of the most beautiful instrumental themes, for Portuguese guitar, as only they know, and the applause they received was long and emotional, from a amazed audience that received them in this important Portuguese hall.

 

It was in fact a “Festim”, the name of the album, edited by Museu do Fado Discos, which took place at the CCB.
