Catarina Gomes and Tiago Galo selected for Bologna book fair
The organization had revealed this week the list of 303 authors from several candidate countries to participate in this annual exhibition, has now announced the choice of 77 to be part of the exhibition.
The annual illustration exhibition is one of the initiatives of that bookseller business fair and regularly introduces international trends in illustration for the youngest, with a prize still being awarded to an author under the age of 35.
The seven Portuguese authors who had been pre-selected were André Carrilho, Catarina Gomes, Joana Estrela Barbosa, Margarida Botelho, Raquel Costa, Tiago Galo and Teresa Cortez.
Both Catarina Gomes and Tiago Galo applied for the exhibition with unpublished, unpublished works, entitled “Little Monsters” and “Alqueva”, respectively, according to information from the book fair.
Illustrators under the age of 35 are still candidates for a prize, created in partnership with SM Fundación Internacional, in the amount of 12,400 euros and which includes the edition of a book. In 2014, the prize was awarded to Catarina Sobral.
This year, the 58th edition of the fair was scheduled from June 14th to 17th, in the hope that it can happen with the physical presence of authors, editors and booksellers.
