Following a successful second edition with over 180 competing projects and 320 participants, CBRE, the world’s leading real estate consultant, presents the third edition of its innovation contest, Proptech Challenge. The European competition, which involves the consultant’s six territories, seeks talent with disruptive but, above all, innovative ideas.
Entries for this contest open on October 7th and last until November 11th. All entries may be submitted on the contest’s dedicated website. Candidates may enter the competition individually or, in the case of startups, in groups. The two contest categories are the Idea Disruptive Award and the Startup Award.
The projects will be evaluated by a national and international panel of juries, including Francisco Horta e Costa, Director General of CBRE Portugal, Miguel Paiva Couceiro, Development Director, Paulo Soeiro de Carvalho, former Municipal Director of Economy and Innovation at the Municipality of Lisboa, and Susana Sequeira, founder and non-executive director of MSTF Partners and investor in the Shark Tank Portugal contest panel held in 2015.
As in last year’s edition, the winners will have the opportunity to participate in this acceleration program, in a direct development laboratory with CBRE offices in Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, as well as a roadshow through the different countries. The winners will count on the team’s know-how and guidance, as well as receive a monetary prize – 20,000 euros in the StartUp category and 10,000 euros in the Idea category.
