With great enthusiasm, we announce the extraordinary tour of the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra in Vienna, which celebrates the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss, the “King of the Waltz”. From 29 April to 5 May 2025, the magic of Viennese music will travel through Portugal, enchanting the public with a series of unmissable concerts.

A musical celebration of Johann Strauss
The orchestra will present some of Strauss’s most beloved works, such as the majestic Blue Danube, the graceful Viennese Blood, the elegant Emperor’s Waltz and the vibrant Radetzky March. The concert will also feature two talented soloists – a soprano and a baritone – who will perform stunning arias that complement the orchestra.
About Maestro Vinicius Kattah
The young conductor Vinicius Kattah, a native of Brazil, stood out early by winning important international competitions for opera conductors. Based in Vienna, he has worked for the last 10 years with several orchestras and conducted at iconic venues such as the Vienna State Opera, Musikverein, Konzerthaus, Hofburg, and Schloss Schönbrunn, among others. His career has taken him to all continents, including Europe, the US, Brazil, the Middle East, Australia, China and Japan.
Kattah recently enchanted audiences with memorable performances, including a concert alongside legendary soprano Anna Netrebko. In its repertoire, the premieres of Mozart’s operas at the State Opera in Kosice stand out. In addition, he participated in internationally renowned television programs such as the BBC and the Brazilian channel Rede Globo.
Kattah’s unique combination of exceptional talent, vast experience and magnetic charisma make him a versatile maestro. His unwavering passion for classical music is evident in every gesture, creating a captivating and charming atmosphere. Since 2012, Vinicius Kattah has been a guest conductor of the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra in Vienna.
About the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra
Founded in 1997, the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra is a prestigious Viennese chamber orchestra composed of highly qualified musicians. Specialises in the classical Viennese repertoire, with emphasis on the works of Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Strauss dynasty. In addition to its regular performances at the Orangerie of Schönbrunn Palace, the orchestra acts as cultural ambassador for Austria, with international performances in countries such as Japan, Croatia, Germany and Denmark. Her dedication to authenticity and musical excellence makes her a reference in the interpretation of Viennese classical music.
