Centro Cultural Vila Flor celebrates its 16th anniversary with a show by La Ribot, Mathilde Monnier and Tiago Rodrigues

The Centro Cultural Vila Flor (CCVF) celebrates its anniversary with “Please Please Please“, a show by the award-winning trio that here combines dance with theater to reflect on the fate of our world.

This Friday, September 17, Centro Cultural Vila Flor (CCVF) celebrates 16 years of activity with a show that results from the collaboration between French choreographer Mathilde Monnier, Spanish-Swiss choreographer La Ribot and Portuguese stage director Tiago Rodrigues. Created before the pandemic, “Please Please Please” proposes a reflection on a world that may be on the brink of catastrophe. After a large part of its European tour was suspended due to Covid-19, the show takes to the CCVF stage with renewed relevance. In a breathtaking journey, the bodies and voices of Mathilde Monnier and La Ribot dialogue about the evolution of the world and a possible and slow extinction of the planet. This show is presented at 7:30 pm in the Grand Auditorium of the CCVF and admission is free, up to the limit of the current capacity of the room.

The multifaceted and awarded trio responsible for the creation of this work that crosses dance with theater proposes a world on stage that may be on the brink of catastrophe or already be what is left of a great world disaster.

A world in which two women address their sons and daughters, with a message for future generations, a message from the present that is sent in time, a dialogue about the world to come, expressing that through voice and body. what we did and didn’t do to preserve this world, for bees and bears to live, for disaster not to happen, for continuing to believe, for waiting.
