Chico da Tina is the new signing of Universal Music Portugal. The artist from Viana is migrating almost his entire catalogue to the new label, at a time when he is introducing the single “CORRETO” from his tribute project to Tony de Matos, PLAYBOY MATOS.
Tony de Matos, a major icon of the Portuguese romantic songbook, would celebrate his 100th anniversary this year. The anniversary does not seem to have gone unnoticed by Chico da Tina, who announced the release of his tribute EP PLAYBOY MATOS. After teasing a first song – “Romântico” – in July, the artist has now teamed up with the Porto duo Joint One & Yung Juse to release this second single “CORRETO”. The production is attributed to Chaylan, a producer whose name, having recently emerged from the underground, seems increasingly to take centre stage in the current urban scene. His instrumental, with synths and dark-themed melodies, serves as a backdrop for the usual punchlines (in our slang “dicas”) that are as entertaining as they are sharp from the northern trio.

The single, which is accompanied by a music video available on the Renascença Portuguesa channel, is part of PLAYBOY MATOS, but also in the album PORTOBOYZMAFIA by Joint One & Yung Juse, due to be released this year as well.
After a year in 2024 where he took his intoxicating show and moshpit culture to every corner of the country and islands, winning over audiences with his creativity and energy, the “Trapstar of Minho” now enters a new career phase with Universal Music, where he promises to continue establishing himself as one of the biggest names as well as one of the most popular in our industry.
