Chrystabell returns to Portugal in February for three concerts where he will present the new album “Midnight Star” which will be released on the 21st of January. The visit to Portugal is included in the tour that Chrystabell is doing in Europe.
The American singer, songwriter, actress and model, who is considered one of David Lynch’s muses, will perform on February 10 at the Carlos Paredes Auditorium, in Lisbon; on the 11th of February, she will be at the Casa das Artes in Arcos de Valdevez and ends on the 12th at the Teatro Municipal da Guarda.
Chrystabell is a unique artist who incorporates dynamic theatrical elements into her shows. Her voice is sensual and ethereal and her music is a mix of cabaret, soul, electronic experimentation and futuristic pop ‘noir’.
Chrystabell is also known for being a long-time collaborator with celebrated director David Lynch: in addition to the musical collaboration, Chrystabell has also participated in the iconic series Twin Peaks.
In recent years, the artist has toured in 36 countries and 90 cities and shared the stage with artists such as Willie Nelson, Brian Setzer, Donovan, Moby, the band Yes, Anna Calvi, members of the band King Crimson, Adrian Utley of Portishead and David J of the Bauhaus, among others.
Chrystabell released “We Dissolve” in 2017, a studio album produced by John Parish (Mercury Prize winner), longtime collaborator and producer of PJ Harvey. In 2021, the artist teamed up with Marc Collin (from Nouvelle Vague) to recreate classic The Cure songs on the album “Strange as Angels”.
Since their first appearance on the soundtrack for the epic surreal film “Inland Empire” with the song they co-wrote with David Lynch entitled “Polish Poem”, the artistic duo has released two more albums: “This Train” (2011) and “Somewhere in Nowhere” (2016), both produced and co-written by Lynch. Her last acting role was in the cult series “Twin Peaks: The Return”, nominated for Best Series of the Decade by Time Magazine. As a model, Chrystabell has been featured in Vogue Italia, W, The Observer, Rolling Stone, Le Figaro Magazine, Elle and other publications.
