Flamenco Ball Cycle at Casino Estoril continues with António Molina “El Choro”

The Flamenco Dance Cycle continues next Thursday, May 4th, at 10 pm, with António Molina “El Choro”. The artist joined the Cristina Heeren Flamenco Art Foundation in 1999, with a scholarship obtained at the II Youth Dance Competition in Huelva, the city where he was born in 1985.

He is currently a teacher at the school teaching the Zapateado Technique, Choreography, Bases and Codes of Traditional Flamenco (Tablao), and Compás. Entry is free.

In his professional beginnings, he joined the Israel Galván company in the Galvánicas show for the 2002 Flamenco Biennial. Between 2003 and 2005, he regularly performed on international tours of the Rafael Campallo company’s shows, combining this activity with his solo performances at international festivals.

In 2006, he danced as a soloist in the Ciclo de Jóvenes Promesas of the Bienal de Flamenco, as well as in the Juncá show by dancer Mercedes Ruiz. A year later, he toured Portugal and Holland as a soloist, highlighting his performance in the Dior Anniversary Parade, in the Gardens of Versailles. Later, he participated in shows such as Kahlo Caló by Amador Rojas and Vaivenes by Javier Barón.

In the 2013 Flamenco show at the Teatro Central in Seville, he premiered “Entre dos Orillas” with Luisa Palicio and Alberto Sellés. In 2015, he joined Vicente Amigo’s group, on an international tour with the album Tierra. At the Festival de Jerez 2016, he premiered his debut show Warning: bayles de jitanos, under the direction of Rafael Estévez, in which he received the Best New Artist Award. In addition to the Flamenco Biennial, this show has toured festivals around the world such as the Tel Aviv Flamenco Days Festival, the Albuquerque Festival, the Suma Flamenca in Madrid, Andalouse in Avignon, Tanz Haus Festival, Dusseldorf, Mont de Marsan, the Monterrey Flamenco Festival and the Contemporary Iberian Festival of Querétaro, among others.
