Refocusing the destiny of the human species, an optimistic vision of artificial intelligence and the relationship between ChatGPT and biotechnology are the themes of this year’s Biotechnology Conferences.
An annual initiative, organized by the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, together with the Alumni Association, which this year returns to an in-person format. The Conferences will take place on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of November, at 5 pm, at the Comendador Arménio Miranda Auditorium, in Porto. Entry is free, no registration is required.
“In search of lost balance” is the title of the first Conference taking place on November 8th with Eduardo Rêgo, owner of the voice of BBC Vida Selvagem and founder of LOVING THE PLANET, a platform focused on consciousness to refocus the destiny of the human species. On November 15, José Fernando Pinto dos Santos and Pedro Rodrigues, professors at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, will speak about “The present and future of artificial intelligence and computing: an optimistic vision with different perspectives.” The theme of the third Conference will be “ChatGPT and the new frontiers of artificial intelligence in biotechnology” with João Miguel Pereira, researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) and Innovation coordinator at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
“Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology are interconnected and it is therefore important that our Higher School of Biotechnology promotes debate and exposure of its students to these topics,” says Paula Castro, director of the Higher School of Biotechnology at the Catholic University of Portugal in Harbor.
