City of Porto at the top of the international certification in quality of life

The city of Porto was, once again, recognized by the World Council on City Data, with the Platinum level, under the standard “ISO 37120 Sustainable cities and communities — Indicators for city services and quality of life”.

ISO 37120, the first standard in city indicators of the “International Organization for Standardization“, includes the analysis of a set of 100 indicators, grouped according to 19 themes related to services and quality of life, thus standardizing the measurement of economic performance , social and environmental of the city, with the World Council on City Data (WCCD) being the international body responsible for this process.

From the set of 100 indicators evaluated, the city of Porto communicated 96 indicators, all core indicators were answered as well as 50 of the 54 possible support indicators.

This is the third consecutive year of recognition for the city of Porto, being the second with the highest level, with only 23 cities worldwide certified by this standard standing out in this period.

Nationally, Porto is the only city that has seen its efforts recognized for three consecutive years (Sintra was recognized in 2017 and 2018, Cascais in 2018 and Vila Nova de Famalicão in 2019).
