The organization of Cinanima – International Film Festival of Animation of Espinho, which from today until Sunday presents 300 films in competition and in retrospectives, canceled its face-to-face component.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he measure was announced already after those responsible for the Aveiro district event had revealed that the event would maintain some competitive sessions in person, although betting mainly on the internet, through a global ticket that, at a single price of seven euros, would allow the spectator access all the films in theaters, most of which are available at any time of the day throughout the week and can be viewed repeatedly.

With 97 films in competition in the various categories of short and feature films, 68 of which in the international section and 29 in the national section, the present edition of the festival will also present a retrospective on the work of French filmmaker and painter Florence Miailhe, and another on the last decade of European animation cinema.
The 2020 program also includes a cycle of films that mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and a tribute to Czech director Jiri Trnka, also recognized for his work as an illustrator and puppeteer.
