Silent cinema is highlighted in a cycle of open-air cine-concerts, taking place on August 14th and September 10th, in the courtyard of the Hotel and Tourism School of Setúbal, within the scope of the Set’Curtas municipal program.
The open-air cinema sessions, free of charge, always starting at 9:30 pm, include the screening of a selection of short films by great silent movie comedians, accompanied by live music by pianist Catherine Morisseau.
“The Seven Occasions of Pamplinas”, directed and starring Buster Keaton, is the film to be presented on August 14th.
Charlie Chaplin is the featured comedian on September 10, with the screening of the short films “Charlot nas Termas” and “Rua da Paz”.
Catherine Morisseau, pianist residing at Cinemateca Portuguesa and in particular at Cinemateca Júnior, where she illustrates silent films with compositions created specifically for that purpose, accompanies the two sessions with live music.
