The work at CinEd will be developed in collaboration with schools, teachers and the eight members of this consortium for film education: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, France, Czech Republic, Croatia and Germany.
CinEd was created in 2015 and coordinated since then by the Institut Français, but Cinemateca Portuguesa has now seen its application approved to pursue this European project, leading a consortium that aims to promote the discovery of European cinema among young people between 6 and 18 years.
The CinEd project will have a budget of around one million euros, of which 70% will be financed by the Europa Criativa Media program and, the remaining 30%, by the partners to be involved.
In CinEd‘s five years of existence, around 1,400 cinema screenings were made for more than 62 thousand students and 233 training actions for teachers.
According to information from Creative Europe, within the scope of the European film education projects, the Serralves Foundation will integrate, as a member, a project led by the German film library, entitled “Cinemini Europe”, which will be financed at around 372 thousand euros.
