Cláudia Pascoal announces guests for the presentation concert of “!!”
David Fonseca, D’zrt and Joana Marques join Vira on May 24th at Maria Matos
A little less than a month away from the presentation concert for her new album, in Lisbon, Cláudia Pascoal announces her guests for Maria Matos. “All idols,” she confesses.
David Fonseca, the producer of this new work and perhaps the person with whom she has spent the most time in the last year; D’zrt, the teenage idols with whom Cláudia Pascoal recently edited a version of the song “Caminho a Seguir”, who are also joined by INÊS APENAS, Iolanda, Rita Onofre and Teresa Farias aka As Oliveirinhas; and, also an idol, Joana Marques, who has unusual participation in the new album and who is expected to have equally unusual participation in this concert.
What more can you expect from a Cláudia Pascoal concert? May it be powerful, innovative, fun, surprising and scenically very strong. Live, Pascoal performs in a trio with André Soares and António Miguel Serra (Metamito). None will be tied to an instrument. The instruments will be part of the scenery, a house, Casa de Cláudia Pascoal, where a fair will be set up, where ranch drums coexist with showers. Oh, and china dogs. Everything on stage will be used in the songs, which will make this not a concert where singles will be performed, but a show where you will be invited to enter Cláudia Pascoal’s “weird-kitsch” universe.
Between traditional Portuguese music and current pop music, in a unique and indefinable category, lies Cláudia Pascoal. Failing to be able to translate and put into words its artistic atmosphere, we can play “Nasci Maria”, the theme that led to the Festival da Canção or “Eh Para a Frente, Eh Para Trás”, the most recent singles from “!!”.
“!!” will be released digitally on May 19th, with the physical vinyl edition hitting stores on May 26th. This week, not one, but two new songs from this new work were revealed.
Cláudia Pascoal will also present “!!” in Porto, on the 2nd of June at the Hard Club.
