Cláudia Pascoal participates in the Festival da Canção with “Nasci Maria”, a theme with lyrics and music of her authorship. It is the artist’s return to the contest in which she brought families together in front of the television, after having won, as a performer of the song “O Jardim”, written by Isaura.
She returns now, at the invitation of RTP, this time giving her face for one of her songs.
“Nasci Maria” will be part of Cláudia Pascoal’s second album, expected to be released in the second quarter of the year. Produced by David Fonseca, it will have presentation concerts on May 24th at Maria Matos, in Lisbon, and on June 2nd, at Hard Club, in Porto. The theme now revealed follows on from “Fado Chiclete” and “Eh Para a Frente, Eh Para Trás”, the two singles released in 2022.
This is the sign of a path that she has been conceiving since that already distant 2018, which took her to Eurovision. Since then, Cláudia Pascoal has edited her debut album (2020), which already included songs signed by her – such as, for example, the iconic Quase Dança – an album that featured in many of the best albums of the year lists in that year. and made her win the Revelação dos Play Award – Portuguese Music Awards. The second album will bring many good surprises.
Cláudia Pascoal will perform in the 1st semifinal of the 57th edition of Festival da Canção, on February 25th. The Final is scheduled for March 11 and the winning theme will represent Portugal in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Liverpool, United Kingdom, in May 2023.
