CLAV Live Session moves forward with new confirmations for March and April

The CLAV Live Session now show the names of the months of March and April of this first season of 2021 which continues until June: the songwriter Old Jerusalem, the breath of fresh air of national jazz Indigo Quintet, the pop-electronic band :papercutz and Tyroliro, Giliano Boucinha’s new musical adventure that joins the already known names of January and February, Don Pie Pie, Valter Lobo, Luca Argel and Mister Roland.

The novelty for this season is the increase of its agenda, going from one to two monthly sessions, and its decentralization between two territories. The sessions will now be held between Guimarães (in the Center and Artistic Laboratory of Vermil) and V. N. de Famalicão (in the Municipal Library Camilo Castelo Branco – several centers).

This 1st season will bring some changes to the way the CLAVs were structured and even to their work dynamics. The first change is that the CLAV LIVE SESSION will now have two physical stages, the well-known CLAV room – Vermil Artistic Center and Laboratory and the new stage that will be at the poles of the Camilo Castelo Branco Municipal Library.

The online viewing of the CLAV LIVE SESSION will also be changed. These will go live on the facebook pages associated with the event and will only be available for two days. For those who want to review the session, they will also have the opportunity to do so in television format on the Alma Lusa cable TV channel at position 139 of Meo. After this retransmission, they will be made available on a streaming platform created by CAISA, where all the CLAV LIVE SESSION will be, and their access will be through a subscription to that platform.

In this 1st season, 12 CLAV LIVE SESSION are scheduled, which are divided into 6 sessions at CLAV – Vermil Center and Artistic Laboratory (Guimarães) and 6 decentralized sessions by the Poles of the Municipal Library Camilo Castelo Branco (V. N. de Famalicão).

For this season, CLAV’s artistic direction also wants to bring singers’ projects to the public and, at the same time, encourage those who see and hear CLAV LIVE SESSION to practice reading, which is why they will have the setting of books.

“BRING A BOOK ALSO” will be the motto for this new season. The public to have access to the concert in the space of CLAV – Center and Artistic Laboratory of Vermil will have to donate a book for the creation of a library in this space. To access the decentralized concerts through the various poles of the Camilo Castelo Branco Municipal Library, you will need to request a book to read at home. Thus, in this way, the organization of the Clav Live Sessions intends to encourage the practice of reading.

The audience returns to the sessions with a maximum of 10 spectators per session, in which they will have the opportunity to listen to the artists as if they were in a recording session, in a music studio. Very intimate concerts in which the relationship of the live audience merges with the soul of the artist himself. The same will be carried out in a mixed format (online and with public), complying with the rules of the General Directorate of Health.

CLAV LIVE SESSION are pioneers in Portugal as they are the first national programming project in the country to use the mixed format for their sessions with Público / Transmissão Online through social networks and communication platforms since January 2018. Thus, the concerts they are transmitted directly to the mobile phone, computer etc., of each one in “video streaming”, thus extending to a large audience where limits do not exist. It is also a decentralized project and a long way from major centers in an attempt to make some asymmetric corrections, whether cultural, social or economic.

It should be noted that in the confinement period, CLAV LIVE SESSION was the only regular programming project in the country that did not close, the only change being the non-existence of an audience in the physical space.
