After Gilberto Gil’s presentation as the first confirmation for the edition of Coala Festival Portugal, we present 3 more names: BaianaSystem, Carminho and Mayra Andrade.
“Coala Portugal focuses on music in the Portuguese language as a whole, uniting the ends of the triangle Brazil, Portugal and Africa, and the announcement of these artists reflects exactly this curation proposal, with artists from Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde ”, comments Gabriel Andrade, founding partner and curator of Coala Festival.
The proposal for this first Portuguese edition is to broaden horizons and deliver a line-up that combines Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking music. To this end, in addition to Gabriel Andrade, Coala Festival Portugal is also curated by Kalaf Epalanga – Angolan musician and writer and one of the founders of the band Buraka Som Sistema, awarded the MTV Europe Music Awards in the Best Portuguese Artist category.
