Coimbra receives pilot test concert on 8 May
Praça da Canção, in Coimbra, receives on May 8 the third pilot test concert in Portugal, with performances by Anaquim, The Twist Connection, Birds are Indie, and Portuguese Pedro.
The event, organized as part of the candidacy of Coimbra for the European Capital of Culture 2027, starts at 20:30 with doors opening at 19:15.
In a co-organization between the Municipality of Coimbra, APEFE – Association of Promoters of Shows, Festivals and Events, APORFEST – Portuguese Association of Music Festivals and APSTE – Portuguese Association of Technical Services for Events, in partnership with the Portuguese Red Cross, to Roche and WiseSafety, the main objective is to obtain clinical studies by health authorities that allow the increase in the capacity of concert halls and the viability of major events, such as festivals or festivals in the city.
This pilot test event in Praça da Canção will have a preparation for a standing audience of 1,000 people, divided into groups of 250, in which the use of the mask and the presentation of the rapid negative antigen test performed on the day of the show is mandatory.
Tickets, available on April 30th at Ticketline, have a cost of 2€ – with test included -, in which the revenue will revert to União Audiovisual. The purchase of these is concluded by scheduling a Rapid Antigen Test (for collection of nasopharyngeal exudate), carried out on May 8 starting at 10 am, by the Portuguese Red Cross, in Praça da Canção.
With this approach, it will be possible to evaluate a return to cultural activities in greater security, in accordance with the Diploma approved by the Council of Ministers on April 1, 2021, following the work carried out between the Ministry of Culture and Health, with the entities representative of the cultural sector.
