Colin Stetson, Moon Duo, Pop Dell’Arte, Grails, Lula Pena, Lafawndah, Cave and The Sunflowers are the first names advanced by the Tremor festival organization on the island of São Miguel for the 2019 edition of the show.

In a note sent to the press today, the organization of the Azorean festival presented the first eight names of the poster for the 2019 edition of Tremor, the sixth of the festival, which will bring to the centre of the Atlantic several Portuguese and international names between April 9 and 13.

The American saxophonist Colin Stetson, the duo rock duo Moon Duo and the historical Portuguese Pop Dell’Arte are some of the first highlights announced for the event.

In 2019, Tremor intends to reinforce its commitment to “creating musical moments that recontextualize, disseminate and integrate the Azorean heritage and history”, with a greater emphasis on the “work of artistic residences with the local community”.

The first homes announced to bring the music of the Spanish ZA! to the traditional dances of the village of Rabo de Peixe, carried out by groups of 15 and 20 dancers with castanets, in a work complemented by a photographic exhibition by Rubén Monfort.

Continuing the collaboration that the festival annually makes with the School of Music of Rabo de Peixe, the Tremor also invited the group ondamarela to develop “a unique and unrepeatable show that brings together the collective of musicians with the Deaf Association of São Miguel “.

In the 2018 edition of the festival, there was room for experiences such as, for example, an action by the Brazilians Boogarins, in the island of Santa Maria, also having a presence in the event names like Liima, Dead Combo, Three Tristes Tigers or The Parkinsons.
