The 2nd edition of the event takes place until September 16th, in the Parish of São Vicente, in Lisbon. It presents a diverse and entirely free program of music, literature, stand-up comedy, Fado, cinema, and exhibitions.
This edition of COLINA DAS ARTES is dedicated to Natália Correia, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of her birth. One of the most important and influential intellectuals of the Portuguese 20th century, whose “view of the world” remains undeniably current. Co-founder of Botequim da Liberdade in 1971 [currently Botequim da Graça], with Isabel Meireles, Júlia Marenha, and Helena Roseta, Natália Correia fought for the values of freedom and feminist struggle, making Botequim a space for political gatherings and literary gatherings and café-concert.
Under the aegis of Natália and based on the centrality that the idea of “Mátria” played in the life and work of the Azorean writer, this year’s program will be mainly focused on women, with a premise of cultural diversity – a genetic hallmark of the city of Lisbon and the Parish of São Vicente.
On September 13th, the date on which he would have completed 100 years of life, the Exhibition “Drawing Natália – Commemorative Exhibition of the Centenary of the Birth of Natália Correia” will be opened to the public, in the Chapter Room of Convento da Graça. The exhibition brings together the work of 12 renowned illustrators who were challenged to discover and draw their visions of Natália Correia. This exhibition opened on Natália Correia’s centenary and will be on display until November 30th, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
On the 15th and 16th of September, the musical program unfolds through Largo da Graça, Cloisters of the Church of Graça and Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, with concerts by MARIA JOÃO & MÁRIO LAGINHA (15th), JÜRA and AUREA (day 16) and Jazz Combos from HOT CLUBE DE PORTUGAL (15th and 16th).
Like what happened in the first edition, the COLINA DAS ARTES 2023 program also includes conversations and gatherings with writers, musicians, and journalists, as well as a cycle of short films in partnership with the VILA DO CONDE International Short Film Festival – full-schedule HERE.
For the first time at COLINA DAS ARTES, the program includes a Stand-Up Comedy show. Aldo Lima, Carlos Moura, Joana Caldeira, and Laura perform at the Cloister of Convento da Graça, on September 14th at 9:30 pm.
COLINA DAS ARTES is dedicated to everyone who lives in and visits the Parish of São Vicente, refusing borders, focusing on cultural diversity, the multiple uses of shared spaces, and the crossing and dialogue between audiences, communities, and generations.
With an inclusive and collaborative nature, COLINA DAS ARTES is an event promoted and organized by the Parish Council of São Vicente and designed, programmed, and produced by Produtores Associados, with the sponsorship of Sagres and the support of the Department of Culture of the City Council of Lisbon.
