The concept of the 6th edition will be a “Homage to Stan Lee” and will present a new layout of the space, which will be divided by 3 large areas, with contents of 10 themes.
After the success of previous editions, Comic Con Portugal, the country’s biggest pop culture event is back for the 6th edition, which will take place from September 12 to 15, at the Passeig Marítimo de Algés, in Oeiras.
This year’s edition will be marked by “Homage to Stan Lee,” one of the most notable cartoon storytellers, responsible for some of Marvel Comics’ biggest superheroes and villains. The 6th edition of Comic Con Portugal will assume in its visual identity the universe of superheroes and created cities by Stan Lee, an iconic personality who left us last November, starting by entering the grounds of the event, where visitors will be welcomed by a porch to recreate New York City with representations of buildings created by Stan Lee in different superhero movies, such as the famous Stark Tower, from the character Iron Man.
NEW EDITION, RENOVATED SPACE
In addition to a new concept, this year’s edition presents a new model of the event. The 2019 edition will have a renovated space, represented by 3 large areas – Commercial Area, Experiences and Program/Auditoriums – with contents of 10 themes, namely Cinema, Television, Comic Strip, Literature, New Media, Music, Anime & Manga, Cosplay and Comic-Con Kids.
One of the most requested and frequented areas of the event. Here, visitors will find many cinematic novelties, exclusive content, and previews of the films and series most anticipated in theaters. The latest trends in comics and literature, the most effusive tournaments of video games and the influencers of the moment. In addition to panels on the Pop Culture universe, this area also includes specific areas for fans to ask for autographs and photographs of their idols.
It promotes the interaction between the visitor and Pop Culture, through the experimentation of several unique activations. In this area, there will be exclusive experiences of the 10 diverse themes surrounding Pop Culture.
This area is divided into two large spaces, one dedicated to the sale of exclusive products, the other dedicated to art. In the first one, which is the country’s largest pop culture mall, visitors can buy products, exclusive merchandising and collector’s items, from videogames, films, series, comic books, anime, among others, in more than 50 national and international stores. Artists’ Alley and Banca Amadora are the other space of this Commercial Area dedicated to art.
Here, visitors will be able to see and acquire a large exhibition of works by talented artists at an early stage of their career, which Comic Con Portugal is keen to help promote and boost.
