Gala of the Amigas do Peito association at Aula Magna
The Amigas do Peito association will hold its 4th Gala on October 29th at the Aula Magna of the Rectory of the University of Lisbon at 5:00 pm with the support of Banda da Armada and the artists Solange Cesarovna from Cape Verde, Cristina Clara and Cristina Madeira by Portugal.
This musical event precedes the 3rd Pink meeting of Amigas do Peito and ends the Pink October celebrations dedicated by the World Health Organization to this cause. Once again, the amounts raised by ticket sales will be fully donated to the Association for its actions.

What is the association Amigas do Peito?
It is an IPSS based on the Santa Maria Hospital Campus in Lisbon and its mission is to provide a space for sharing experiences, informative support and personalized support for women and men with Breast Cancer. The Association’s objective is to defend and support breast cancer patients at all stages of the disease, including pre and post-surgery, inpatient and outpatient care in an effort to promote a better quality of life and also provide support to family and friends”.
One of the most important supports provided by Amigas do Peito is the Reception House, “a space that Amigas do Peito provides for the temporary accommodation of cancer patients, self-employed, undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy and surgery, among others, residing far away from the place of treatments, and who do not have a place to live with minimum comfort. Such support, as far as possible, is extended to family members or companions as fundamental elements in the support, comfort of patients and the functioning of the Shelter. Application for admission must be made at the Association’s headquarters upon request made in writing by the patient or his/her representative accompanied by a medical report with the treatment schedule. Accommodation and admission to the House are completely free.”
