Santo António Lisbon Illustration Competition 2025
A creative tribute to Lisbon's most popular saint
It already smells of basil and grilled sardines, and with it also arrives one of the most charming initiatives of the Lisbon Festivities: the Santo António Lisboa 2025 Illustration Competition.
This is the perfect opportunity for artists, illustrators and art lovers to bring to life the figure of Santo António, the saint of lost loves and miracles, patron saint of Lisbon residents and eternal inspiration for generations. Whether you’re an established talent or a young creator bursting with ideas, this contest is for you.
Organized by Arco da Velha, Design and Illustration, Lda., with the support of the Parish of Santo António – Lisbon, and in partnership with the Museum of Lisbon – Santo António, El Corte Inglés, Avenida Association, Ponto das Artes, LeYa and Casa Agrícola Pinto do Amaral. The competition promises to celebrate creativity with special prizes and a lot of visibility for the distinguished works.
How to participate?
Just let your inspiration speak louder and create an original illustration, caricature or cartoon of Saint Anthony. He could be the preacher among the fish, the saint of weddings or even the one who finds everything we have lost – the important thing is to give it colour and form, with a Lisbon soul.
- Deadline for submission of illustration: May 13, 2025
- Announcement of winners: June 10, 2025, Praça da Alegria, Lisbon
- On the same date, an exhibition of the works in competition opens at Praça da Alegria and an exhibition at the Biblioteca Arquiteto Cosmelli Sant’Anna.
