Christmas and New Year's Eve Program

Thinking about the reunions of the upcoming festive season, the Dona Maria restaurant at The Lodge Porto Hotel, in Vila Nova de Gaia, has designed special programs for Christmas dinner, but also for New Year’s Eve, where conviviality and sharing have a special place. More than sharing snacks, this Christmas the invitation is to reunite and exchange stories, to make up for a lost time, in a place where the hours can be peacefully savoured in an environment specially dedicated to each family.
On December 24th, Christmas dinner will be celebrated in four different moments, namely: starters, main meat and fish dishes and desserts, which bring back Christmas and restaurant classics. Enjoy starters with Algarve-style octopus salad; crab stuffed with cooked shrimp; and Bolota ham leg, among others. For the main dishes, try a Caldo verde with chorizo from Vila de Rei; the Yellow cured cod cooked with vegetables and the Roasted turkey leg with honey and spices, purple sweet potato puree, mushroom ragout and Port wine reduction.
But save your belly to enjoy the desserts: Pão de Ló type of Ovar, Pão de Ló de Margaride, Egg Pudding de São Bernardo, Vermicelli with milk and spices, Burnt cream milk, French toast with Port wine syrup and fruits dry goods, Bolo-rei with candied fruits and black beer or Sonhos with orange and ginger syrup, among other delicacies. The full menu costs €135 per person. Children under 3 years old are free and up to 7 years old there is a special price of €67.50.
On New Year’s Eve, the leap to 2024 is also made together. The night at Dona Maria at The Lodge Porto Hotel is being prepared to make the new year inspiring. The party starts early and continues until dinner, where there will be no shortage of live music. The last night of the year will be a tribute to Portugal combined with the glamour of New Year’s Eve, with Fado to the sound of the Portuguese guitar; Classic and contemporary medleys; Artistic performances, Open Bar with DJ and dynamic Photowall. The dinner that ends 2023 begins with the “Welcome Drink & Cocktail Menu” followed by the “Gala Menu”, and the “Supper Menu” and ends the night with an Open Bar. The value of this menu is €325.00 per person. Children under 3 years old are free and up to 7 years old, the menu costs €162.50.
If you prefer a more exclusive and intimate program, there is always the possibility of booking the emblematic Sala dos Vinte and Sala dos Trinta, which are imposing private rooms perfectly decorated and inspired by the world of wine and are located in the Dona Maria restaurant, having the capacity to seat up to 20 people (in the case of the Twenty Room) and 30 people (in the case of the Thirty Room). The Sala dos Trinta is one of the hotel’s icons, having already been the stage for the presentation of the most prestigious wine brands.
