“Tell me a song” takes to the stage of Teatro Maria Matos

For four unique performances!

Against the background of the legacy of more than 25 years of partnership with some of the most talented and influential national “songwriters”, the show producer and artist management Vachier & Associados conceived a project around what is the most valuable of popular music – the Song.

Initially, the production of audiovisual content was made available last summer, see it on Youtube, now with transposition to the stage of Teatro Maria Matos, launching the challenge to eight national artists. Four encounters with duos formed by unavoidable names in national music, whether as composers or as performers.

For the live version of “Conta-me Uma Canção”, V&A invited Benjamim + Samuel Úria; Joana Espadinha + Mafalda Veiga; The Girl Doesn’t + Sérgio Godinho; and David Fonseca + Rita Redshoes. These will be nights where, alongside the stories of the chosen songs, the cross versions, and a necessarily intimate conversation between two creators, each pair of singer-songwriters will also share with the audience a version of a song that is not their own, “one of those” that they would like to have composed.

Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon was the venue chosen for this first live adventure of “Conta-Me Uma Canção”, with performances taking place between the end of January and the beginning of February:

January 24 – Benjamin + Samuel Uria

31 January – Joana Espadinha + Mafalda Veiga

7 February – Sérgio Godinho + A Garota Não

13 February – David Fonseca + Rita Redshoes

Tickets are available at the theater box office, on Ticketline and at the usual places, costing €18.50 per session. It will be possible to purchase a pass for all sessions with a 20% discount.
