Cooljazz starts this week in Cascais

on the 8th, Lionel Richie and Filipe Karlsson take the stage

The 2023 edition of COOLJAZZ kicks off this week (July 8th), with the long-awaited show by Lionel Richie headlining the first night of the festival.

COOLJAZZ has 7 nights of concerts and sessions of Dj sets by Cascais Lazy Sundays, with a total of more than 20 artists, during the month of July, at Parque Marechal Carmona, at Hipódromo Manuel Possolo and in the Gardens of Casa de Histórias Paula Rego.

The 18th edition of the festival begins with the legendary artist Lionel Richie, with a concert expected in 2019. Filipe Karlsson, the first Portuguese artist to step on stage this edition, makes his debut on the COOLJAZZ stage to present his new works, and Cátia Ribeiro Quarteto opens the stage at the Cascais Jazz Sessions By Smooth Fm. The first Cascais Lazy Sundays are in charge of Filipa Galrão (July 9) and Sara Ribeiro (July 16), at Jardins Casa de Histórias Paula Rego.

It starts at 8 pm with the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth Fm, then follows the First Concert on the main stage and ends with the Great Concert on the main stage. You can consult all the festival schedules at cooljazz.pt

The cabin area on the COOLJAZZ venue is completely dedicated to the public who enjoy watching group concerts. Located on the covered bench, with valet service and food and beverage service available. Cabins are available at all COOLJAZZ concerts.

For security reasons, you will not be allowed to enter the festival with:

  • Motorcycle helmets, suitcases, and other large suitcases and backpacks.
  • Beverages – bottles, cans
  • Laser pointers
  • Professional photography or video equipment, drones, and weapons of any kind

There is a cloakroom available on the grounds, for helmets only, located at the festival ticket office. Opening hours are from 4 pm until the end of the concerts.

Cool Pick&Go, in Parque Marechal Carmona, has several gastronomic options, which allow the public to dine inside the enclosure and enjoy all the concerts. The Eco Cup costs €1 and can be exchanged as often as necessary at the venue’s bars.

The festival provides 2 zones for disabled spectators to watch the shows. A parking area with limited capacity is planned as, a priority access corridor, adapted circulation, and adapted services within the festival grounds.
