- Three pop-up dinners with an exclusive menu, a special selection of wines, and traditional Portuguese flavours, on Wednesdays (September 17th, 24th, and October 1st).
- Premieres today, September 17th, with Quinta dos Capinhas, the evening’s special guest, and a selection of artisanal cheeses.
Coral, a gourmet restaurant at Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve, presents Harvest Night, a new series of pop-up dinners dedicated to celebrating the harvest. The event takes place on three dates – September 17th, 24th, and October 1st – and will be open to both guests and the public.
On these days, Coral will operate exclusively with this special concept, suspending its usual service. The sessions take place on Wednesdays, starting at 7:00 pm, and feature a tasting menu created by chef Diogo Pereira, inspired by the authentic flavours of Portuguese tradition. The price per person is 65 euros (wines and cheeses not included).
Each dinner will feature a guest winemaker, who will present a special table featuring rare and select wines, available by the glass or bottle, in an informal, sharing atmosphere.
Launches today with Quinta dos Capinhas, the evening’s special guest
The first edition, on September 17th, features Quinta dos Capinhas, a family-owned vineyard in Porches known for its commitment to sustainable production and its connection with the Algarve terroir. The estate’s director, Sofia Saraiva, will be present to present a selection of white, red, and rosé wines carefully produced on the property.
The evening’s menu includes starters such as vegetarian samosa with sweet potato and cilantro chutney, Zambujal reserve ham, and oysters with Tinta Caiada verjus. Main courses include cod with chickpeas and cornbread, and organic rooster stewed in red wine. Desserts include Ovar sponge cake served in clay pots and chocolate mousse with fleur de sel and olive oil.
During this inaugural session, guests will also enjoy a special selection of cheeses from Queijaria Ortodoxo in Vila Nogueira de Azeitão. The cheeses—including Veludo de Cabra, Grande do Viso, and Azul da Arrábida, the first Portuguese blue cheese—will be available on a cheese cart that will circulate throughout the dinner.
With Harvest Night, Coral reinforces its position as a leading gastronomic destination in southern Portugal, combining creativity, local produce, and the energy of the grape harvest in an exceptional seaside setting.
