With the Auditorium successively sold out, the musical “Hunchback of Notre Dame”, a production by Caixa de Cena, continues to conquer the public at Casino Estoril. The show cycle is renewed on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 am and 3:30 pm.
One of the most famous works in the world adapted to musical theatre in a memorable and emotional version for the whole family, where justice, friendship and love win in a show about the passionate story of Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame!
Imbued with boundless racial hatred, Frollo, who has kept Quasimodo locked up in the cathedral all his life, orders an end to the Parisian gipsy community. His plans end up failing when he loses emotional power over Quasimodo and Captain Febo’s support, all because of the beautiful and fearless Esmeralda, a gipsy who challenges Frollo’s principles and encourages Quasimodo to fight for freedom.
Marginal and isolated as the bell ringer of the cathedral where he lived his entire social life, Quasimodo symbolizes difference and the struggle for social acceptance. Esmeralda represents the gipsy community of the time, persecuted throughout history by the ecclesiastical judge Frollo, alluding to the need to fight against xenophobia.
Artfeist reveals that, “this project has a social aspect, a pillar of our Production Company, and the ticket value of the premiere will be offered to Associação Ajuda de Berço, which guarantees the protection of minors, of children from all over the country, and that we consider being worthy of our full support”.
