Covilhã Theater Company on tour in Spain
The company of Covilhã Teatro das Beiras is going to Spain on tour to make three presentations of its latest production, ‘Una Donna Sola’.
In a press release sent to Lusa agency, this company from the district of Castelo Branco said that the first presentation is scheduled for Thursday, in Seville, in the theater hall La Fundición. On Saturday, the company presents itself in La Nave del Duende, in Cáceres. The last presentation integrated in this tour is scheduled for the 31st, at the Teatro de La Estación, in Zaragoza.
This spectacle, which was already in scene in Covilhã, takes place in a very pink room of a very dark house, where a solitary woman performs the routine task “very feminine” of ironing the iron.
“She passes by, passes, passes, suddenly realizes that in the building opposite, in an uninhabited apartment, a new tenant has settled in. Everything changes: it ceases to be alone! Then a conversation begins (a soliloquy ) in which, under many aspects, the relationship between man and woman, today as in the past, a question of anthropophagy, is mentioned in the synopsis.
Dario Fo and Franca Rame, this production of the Theater of Beiras is staged by Luís Vicente, scenography and costumes by Luís Mouro, drawing and light by Fernando Sena. The interpretation is of Antónia Terrinha and the ‘voice-off’ of Luis Vicente, Nuno Geraldo and Roberto Jácome.
