CPCJ organizes National Meeting on alcoholism in times of pandemic

“Problems related to alcohol in times of pandemic, risks and dangers, the common detonator” is the theme of the national meeting that the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth of São Brás de Alportel promotes online on the morning of Thursday, April 22.

An initiative that has the support of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve, the Portuguese Association for Victim Support, and the Faro Territorial Command of GNR, among other entities.

The meeting will feature, in its opening panel, with interventions by the President of the local Child Protection Commission, Marlene Guerreiro, the Mayor of São Brás de Alportel, Vitor Guerreiro; the President of ARS do Algarve, Paulo Morgado; from the President of the District Social Security Council, Margarida Flores, from the Faro Territorial Commander of GNR, Colonel Pedro Oliveira and also with a Message from the President of the National Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth at Risk, Rosário Farmhouse.

The first panel is dedicated to “alcohol abuse: the impact on children and young people” are invited speakers: José Goulão, Director-General of SICAD, by Cláudia Maia, coordinator of the Division of Intervention in addictive behaviors and addictions (DICAD ) and Margarida Pinto, responsible for the Specialized Technical Team (ETE), for the Prevention of the Intervention in Additive Behaviors and Dependencies Division (DICAD). Nuno Murcho, from the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, will be the moderator of this panel.

The second panel will focus on problems related to alcohol and domestic violence and will be moderated by Júlia Cardoso, regional coordinator of the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV). A moment that will count with the contributions of the invited speakers: Colonel Pedro Oliveira, Faro Territorial Commander of GNR, of Sergeant Vera Rodrigues of the GNR Domestic Violence Intervention Center (NIAV), of Marta Chaves da Silva, deputy coordinator of the Program National Violence Prevention in Life Cycle (PNPVCV – DGS) and PNPVCV regional coordinator of the ARS do Algarve, as well as Ana Mourato Nunes, from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of State and Internal Administration and a representative from the Public Ministry.

There is also a moment to share projects and best practices on the topic by the Children and Youth Protection Commissions, presented by Alberto Guerreiro, president of the Children and Youth Protection Commission of Loulé.

An intense morning of sharing experiences and multidisciplinary work, between entities specialized in this area of ​​intervention, in this primary joint mission, which is the promotion and protection of the defense of the rights of children and young people, as well as their families.
