Creative Commons Global Summit trades Lisbon for the web for its annual meeting

The most diverse technological meeting that Lisbon received in 2019 will take place this year exclusively online due to the circumstances.

The CC Global Summit, an annual conference-celebration of the Creative Commons universe, brings together experts, professionals, and enthusiasts and allows you to learn more about the area. Creative Commons (CC) are licenses that any content creator can assign to their work, thus defining how others can use those works.

For example, an illustrator can share an illustration with a CC license that allows it to be re-published on a blog as long as for non-commercial purposes or a musician can make a song available with another CC license that lets another musician take that composition, remix it and sell it.

The CC Global Summit is an annual meeting that serves the community that is interested in Creative Commons or works with this type of licenses, and that advocates a more open, free, and shared internet, where you can meet, exchange experiences and learn more in one of the conferences that take place over the two days of the event.

In 2019 the CC Global Summit settled in Lisbon and the Portuguese capital planned to continue this year, but the pandemic forced the organization to make changes to the event, moving it online.

Thus, the 2020 edition of the CC Global Summit will take place but exclusively online, with a program consisting of more than 150 sessions and with more than 200 speakers from 40 different countries.
