Cape Verdean singer Cremilda Medina chose the last day of the year to treat her audience with a new single.
After another atypical year for culture, Cremilda Medina decided to edit “Xandinha”, a composition with music by Amândio Cabral and lyrics by Dante Mariano where he reveals “Xandinha”, a Portuguese girl who in the early 50s went on vacation to São Vicente and that, due to its beauty, left all the boys of Liceu Gil Eanes and of the time in love with it, mainly for its beautiful eyes, the “Odjos di Xandinha”.
“I didn’t want to end the year without leaving a gift to all those who have been with me on this journey, so the idea of “Xandinha” came up, a composition that speaks of love, sweetness and magic, which also matches the time we are in live…” reveals Cremilda Medina.
“It’s a very beautiful morna and at the same time very sentimental, one of those that I like to interpret”.
In the year she was nominated at the CVMA Cabo Verde Music Awards and at the IPMA Internacional Portuguese Music Awards and where she stepped on several stages in Cape Verde and the diaspora, Cremilda said goodbye to 2021, with a morna in her style, in her sweet voice.
“Xandinha” has been available on Youtube since December 31st and will soon be available on all digital platforms.
