After touring Europe on tour, Cristina Branco will perform next Saturday, the 9th, at Cistermúsica, in Alcobaça. The entrance is free.
The challenge was launched by the Cister Meta Orchestra (CISMO): a concert in which Cristina Branco interpreted some of the most emblematic themes of her repertoire, re-orchestrated by the composers Carlos Brito Dias, Daniel Schvetz, Anne Victorino d’Almeida, and Daniel Bernardes.
Thus was born the concept for the unprecedented musical journey to rediscover the singer’s work, which will take place next Saturday, the 9th, at the historic Monastery of Alcobaça (Cerca). In this performance, there will be no shortage of great music classics, originally signed by Chico Buarque, Amália Rodrigues, or Sérgio Godinho, and interpreted by the singer throughout her career.
The very next day (July 10), Cristina Branco will perform at Jardim da Sereia, in Coimbra, alongside Salvador Sobral, in a tribute concert to Zeca Afonso as part of that city’s festivities.
In 2022 Cristina Branco has established herself as one of the great ambassadors of Portuguese culture in the world, accumulating dozens of sold-out dates in countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, and France, where she was one of the names of the Jazz Sous Les Pommiers festival. The singer’s schedule will continue throughout August, with concerts in Germany – in Laufenburg (6 Aug) and Dreieich (7 Aug) – and in Italy, at the Nora Jazz Festival (11 Aug).
