The recordings of Cristina Branco’s new work are finished. Her 18th album of originals is scheduled for autumn and promises to give birth to a new original repertoire of a musical genre as fundamentally Portuguese as Fado.
Giving voice to different authors, something common in the singer’s extensive work, Cristina Branco idealized an assumed return to Fado, an ode to its tradition, but also its reinvention through the creative contribution of a vast set of lyrics and new perspectives.
Bernardo Couto on the Portuguese guitar, Luís Figueiredo on the piano and Bernardo Moreira on the double bass are the musicians who, together with Cristina Branco, recorded and produced this new work.
Cristina Branco will take the stage at Casa da Música, in Porto, on November 30th. Tickets are already on sale.
