The first “photo-talk” of the “Memoratory… of the Used and Preserved Musical Group of Miragaia” project is already online on the website of Cultura em Expansão.
Created by the Confederation – research group and director Tânia Dinis, the project aims to be a journey through the archives, memories and heritage of the almost centenary Musical Group of Miragaia, through three conversations with some of the voices that are linked to the history of this space with a view over the Douro. Born on the 1st of January 1926, the Musical Group of Miragaia is today one of the poles of the municipal program Cultura em Expansão, setting the stage for numerous initiatives in collaboration with the Confederation, which maintains its place of residence there.
In this first episode, the guest is Rui Brandão, followed by two other meetings with the participation of Manuel Vilela and Helder Teixeira, which will be available on April 21st and May 5th, respectively.
During the month of April, Cultura em Expansão presented on its website a series of free online shows. In addition to “Memoratório”, the project “Cortes do Porto”, by Rui Catalão, is still available online for viewing.
The presentation of the program in the different territories of the 2021 edition of Cultura em Expansão, made in partnership with the collectives Visões Úteis, Confederação, Teatro do Frio and Sonoscopia, is scheduled for mid-May, if the safety rules imposed by DGS in that period so allow, on a date to be announced soon.
