Of the 27 works, from Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Canada, Slovakia, Albania, Iceland, Guinea-Bissau and Hungary, three are presented at the world premiere and eleven at the national premiere.
In view of the current pandemic moment, Leiria Film Fest has reinvented itself and changed the maximum length of short films from 15 to 20 minutes and only accepts productions from the year of registration.
The Leiria Film Fest takes place at the Teatro Miguel Franco and the Museum of the Moving Image, in Leiria.
The 27 works compete for the prizes for best ‘shorts’ in the categories of national fiction, international fiction, national animation, international animation, national documentary, international documentary, for an audience award and also for the best short film in Leiria.
Held annually since 2013, the Leiria Film Fest had, in the total of seven editions, almost 3,500 films submitted (from 74 countries) and 4,700 spectators.
