Dalí – Surreal Kitchen welcomes the world to the table

Campo de Ourique, Lisbon

The longer days are an unmistakable invitation to gather friends and family around the table. Dinners with no time to end, toasts and laughter, a good mood, and the world’s flavors are the right ingredients for summer.

With your mind already on a well-deserved vacation and planning trips, Dalí – Cozinha Surreal is the ideal place to travel without leaving Campo de Ourique. Just open the map… sorry, the menu!

Arrumadinho de Carne de Sol

Dalí – Cozinha Surreal was born in 2019 in one of the most iconic and cosmopolitan neighborhoods in the city of Lisbon and it is from this cosmopolitan trait and from this new Lisbon that this restaurant with the soul of a pub was born, in a town with an increasingly global “appetite”. Located in a neighborhood that crosses more and more nationalities, which maintains its traditional design that characterizes Campo de Ourique, but which knew how to innovate and open itself to the new world that is Lisbon, Dalí is a space facing the world, but which at the same time at the same time “welcomes” the world at home. Cosmopolitan cuisine with influence from 10 countries and a special touch with a taste of Brazil by the hands and talent of Chef Ana Carolina Silva (Carol). An unforgettable experience that unites different cultures, flavors, and ingredients at the table, a sharing concept that includes the flavors of Portugal, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, the East, Switzerland, America, Greece, and India. Strange? No! surreal! The bucket list of the most desired trips starts at Rua da Infantaria 16.

At the head of the space, we have Tavinho and Carol, a couple that came from Brazil 5 years ago and chose Lisbon to live in. They are the ones who welcome us with open arms and a big smile at Dalí. Carol idealized the menu, inspired by the flavors of Brazil, where she comes from, but also on her travels where she discovered incredible dishes that remain in the family’s memory album. Dalí’s cuisine is an ode to the good gastronomy of the world and also a mirror of a modern Brazil also in its kitchen and which has found a captive place in Lisbon. Carol and Tavinho personify hospitality at its maximum exponent, they welcome you as if you were at home, which is a very characteristic feature of the art of hospitality and a relaxed way of being, which makes the experience at Dalí – Cozinha Surreal unique and, above all, repeatable.

Based on the concept of sharing, we can find different proposals such as Roasted Alentejo Chorizo (Portugal), Panelinha de Carne de Sol (Brazil), Veal Carpaccio (Italy), or Shrimp on the hanger (Orient). And these are just a few examples in the Entries section. As for the main dishes, we travel through more traditional flavors with Carol’s interpretations of some icons of our cuisine and we can try the Loin of Cod à Brás or an Octopus à Lagareiro. From Brazil, there is no “mistake”: we are between Moqueca (also with a vegan option) and Picanha. A Cheese Fondue is the proposal that comes to us from Dalí from Switzerland, the Dalí Hamburger arrives, of course, from America, which can also be served with a very Brazilian touch on a cheese bread; from France, the classic L’Entrecôte and from the Indies a Prawn Curry or a Chicken Curry.
